Sessions Says Kagan Broke Law at Harvard
Republican Policy Chairman McCotter denies that Republicans
are the party of NO -publishes new bookletsaying why
The House Republican Policy Committee has published a booklet laying out what Republicans support and that they are NOT the party of No. The Democrats have been shamelessly trying to claim that while their healthcare bill is not perfect, the Republicans have had no plan of their own and they just keep saying "no" to the Democrats all the time but without any alternative.
Well that simply has not been true. There have been numerous proposals, amendments, entire bills proposed by the Republicans but it is in fact the Democrats who wouldn't even let it be read in committee let alone it get to the House floor.
So Rep. Thaddeus McCotter, one of my favorite members of Congress and a true intellectual, is Chairman of the House Republican Policy Committee. They have published a booklet outlining exactly what they are FOR and that this is a great time for renewal. It lays it out pretty well. By clicking on the link below you may sign up to get a free hard copy of the booklet or you can download a pdf. I highly suggest you read this 18-page booklet. Former Travis County District Attorney hopeful Mindy Montford was arrested when the car she was a passenger in was pulled over early Saturday morning.
It happened shortly after 2:00a.m. in the 600 block of San Jacinto St. Police charged Montford with public intoxication after her friend who was driving was pulled over. When Montford offered legal advice to the driver police instructed her to return to the vehicle.
Police arrested the driver then Montford. The judge never signed the arrest warrant citing no probable cause for the stop. Montford was released from jail early that morning.
Montford was a finalist for the Travis County District Attorney seat but was defeated by Rosemary Lehmberg.

Complaint Demonstrates Disenfranchisement of Non-Travis County Voters by Questionable Political Office
(DALLAS) -- The Everglades Legal Foundation (www.evergladeslegal.org), after numerous Open Records requests ignored by the Texas Public Integrity Unit (TPIU), has filed a lawsuit in federal court challenging the constitutionality and standing of the TPIU as said office is currently funded by the Texas Legislature. The lawsuit, filed in Dallas on behalf of plaintiff Cathie Adams, a Texas resident, makes a strong case that the TPIU as currently constituted violates both the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment and the Texas Constitution. Ted Stevens' charges dismissed as judge excoriates prosecutors

'I've never seen anything approaching the misdeeds and the misconduct' in this case, federal Judge Emmet Sullivan says. The corruption conviction of Stevens, a former Alaska senator, is set aside.
By James Oliphant, LA Times
April 7, 2009
Reporting from Washington -- A federal judge dismissed the criminal charges against former Sen. Ted Stevens today while strongly criticizing the Justice Department lawyers who prosecuted the Alaskan stalwart for their actions in the case.
"In nearly 25 years on the bench, I've never seen anything approaching the misdeeds and the misconduct I have seen in this case," U.S. District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan told a packed courtroom.

Stevens Prosecution Overview
April 6, 2009 in DOJ Issues, DOJ Scandal, Prosecutorial Misconduct, Public Corruption by Solomon Wisenberg
Law.com here carries a Legal Times piece by Mike Scarcella and Joe Palazollo on the series of errors that dogged the Stevens prosecution team. According to the story, Public Integrity’s Deputy Chief Brenda Morris wasn’t assigned to the case until days before the indictment. Though the article fails to mention it, this presumably means that Morris did not participate in the April 15, 2008, interview with Bill Allen and may not have ever known about it.
Most commentators are assuming that Judge Sullivan will quickly grant the Government’s Motion to Set Aside and Dismiss, but Sullivan could wait awhile in order to fully satisfy himself concerning the Government’s conduct in the case and to better exert the Court’s own disciplinary authority. It may be harder for him to do this as a practical matter if he immediately grants the Motion to Set Aside and Dismiss.

EXCLUSIVE: No Audit of Obama Fundraising
October 30th -- Democratic Presidential nominee Barack Obama reversed his pledge to take public financing for his campaign to become the first ever federal candidate in a general election to reject public matching funds. Why did he do this? One, there is no spending cap. If he took the public money he would have been limited to spending only $84 million like Senator John McCain chose to do. He also may have done so because of the way the Federal Election Commission (FEC) rules are constructed. If a candidate does take public matching funds, there are mandatory audits of contributions and expenditures. If a candidate refuses public funds, there is no automatic audit. Interview with Weather Underground member and FBI informant Larry Grathwohl -- gives inside account of meetings with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers saying Ayers had former plans to kill 25 million people
By a chance meeting back in 1969, Larry Grathwohl, a military veteran was invited to join Weather Underground, a domestic terrorist group that bombed the Pentagon and the US Capitol led by Barack Obama's colleague, Bill Ayers. Pajamas Media recently interviewed Mr. Grathwohl about becoming an FBI informant and his days with Ayers saying Ayers wanted to overthrow the U.S. government and kill 25 million Americans who "refused to embrace communism." Michelle Obama quoted Saul Alinsky's neo-Marxist book "Rules for Radicals" in DNC speech. Obama taught these "rules" as a community organizer in Chicago. THIS IS A MUST READ!
In an explosive article today in the "American Thinker", writer James Lewis explores Barack Obama's political philosophy as based on the writings of Saul Alinski. Saul Alinsky was a radical neo-marxist, COMMUNITY ORGANIZER in Chicago in the early 20th century. Terrorist Bill Ayers and Barack Obama followed and taught these tactics as community organizers. Alinsky hated capitalism and the American middle class but thought they were a neccessary tool to be manipulated and eventually overthrown. Here is to whom Alinsky dedicated "Rules for Radicals" ,
"... to the very first radical . . . who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom - Lucifer."
Obama also worked directly for an Alinksy protege. More here.
In her speech at the DNC Michelle Obama referred to specific phrases written by Alinksy in "Rules":
" 'Barack stood up that day,' talking about a visit to Chicago neighborhoods, 'and spoke words that have stayed with me ever since. He talked about 'The world as it is' and 'The world as it should be…' And, 'All of us driven by a simple belief that the world asit isjust won't do – that we have an obligation to, fight for the world asit should be."
(Brendan) Sullivan's letter notes that several times during the trial, Judge Emmet G. Sullivan criticized the federal Office of Public Integrity and "specifically found that the government had engaged in intentional misconduct."

New DOJ policy for pet project prosecutors -- STOP the shakedowns for cash
Sue Reisinger from the Web site, Corporate Counsel writes about how the Department of Justice has told government prosecutors to no longer shake down corporations for donations to their favorite pet projects.
This all stems from a U.S. Attorney from New Jersey, Christopher Christie who while prosecuting Bristol-Myers Squibb Company required them to pay for a new ethics chair position at his old law school. A memo was sent out by Deputy Attorney General Mark Filip saying that government attorneys could no longer require a defendant to make these kind of payments to a third party.
In Sue Reisinger's story, she writes:
"The policy change affects plea agreements as well as deferred and nonprosecution agreements. Such agreements should not, the new policy states, require 'the defendant to pay funds to a charitable, educational, community, or other organization or individual that is not a victim of the criminal activity or is not providing services to redress the harm caused by the defendant's criminal conduct."'
